Family - Infertility and Adoption

We know we still want to be parents, be we just can't agree on a plan.

Couples with infertility or other reproductive problems often reach a point where their dream of becoming parents requires planning of a different sort than they ever anticipated.

She may want to try one more round of In-Vitro Fertilization(IVF), while he wants to move on to adoption. She may be leaning towards a closed adoption, while he may think open adoption is the better approach. She may be leaning towards a program placing children from China, while he is focusing on domestic adoption. What she and he both want is to reach agreement on a plan, so they can move forward and become parents after all.

At CMDR, mediation can help couples do just that.

At the Centre for Mediation & Dispute Resolution, a mediator with experience in the areas of infertility and adoption will help you and your spouse identify goals and options and develop a plan that suits you individually and as a couple. While traditional counseling can help you work through your fears and doubts and feelings of loss, mediation can provide a useful supplement to counseling. In a peaceful, constructive setting, a skilled mediator, sensitive to the special stresses of your situation, will guide you in listening to each other and designing a plan you can both embrace. At the Centre for Mediation & Dispute Resolution, you will discover that mediation is ideally suited to practical problem solving for people like you who have a special relationship to preserve and a special future to plan.
